This Neo-classical style looking glass displays all the hallmarks of Robert Adam. The oval mirror plate is contained within a moulded frame carved with gadroons and beads divided by a fluted ground. The classical urn cresting, with a spray of wheat ears and flowers, rests upon gathered acanthus leaves with trailing garlands of husks uniting the urn handles and flowing through the leaf scrolls and joining the sides of the frame. The apron, formed of double scrolling branches and leaves, is decorated with paterae and supported by a leaf spray.
